10 Weeks

The beginning of the Fetal Period!

A quarter of the way there!  It seems like its going so fast but so slow at the same time!  This week marks the end of the embryotic period and the beginning of the Fetal period.  It's so exciting to think about how "human" the baby is becoming now with all it's vital organs, limbs even little finger nails!  It's really just so amazing.  This week is especially amazing because it's the first time since it all started that I feel amazing.  Up until now I wasn't sure if I was rally pregnant, or just going through puberty all over again.  Some of the less fun symptoms like acne and morning sickness are fading and I'm finally feeling more "normal" again.  I'm still VERY tired and will nap at any given opportunity, but that is suppose to start fading soon too.  Still able to do all my circus stuff :-)  I was upside down yesterday hanging from poles, silks and the trapeze.  Surprisingly, it doesn't feel all that different yet even though just sitting and standing I feel different.  I think I always have been more comfortable upside down though!

Baby Villoria Update:
Baby's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout the pregnancy.  Minute details, like tiny nails are forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair is beginning to grow on tender skin.  In other developments: Baby's limbs can bend now. Baby's hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over the heart, and it's feet may be long enough to meet in front of it's body. The outline of it's spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from the spinal cord. Baby's forehead temporarily bulges with it's developing brain and sits very high on it's head, which measures half the length of it's body. From crown to rump, Baby is about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, Baby will again double in size to nearly 3 inches.
