Hudson as Catboy!

 Pumpkin Carving

Okay, now I feel pregnant!  This baby and my belly are growing by the minute.  I'm officially uncomfortable. Everything is getting harder. And, I still have 3 1/2 months to go!  And... I'm pretty tired of having to pee. all. of. the. time!  I don't know if it's because both of my babies have been boys, but I carry low. Painfully low. I guess the upside to that is that I can breathe!  I have friends that carry high and complain their lungs are crushed. Not sure which is better.  Otherwise baby and I are both doing great.  At this point I was starting to have complications with Hudson.  My blood pressure and swelling were creeping up.  I've been trying to be active and super healthy this time around to try and stay in the clear, but they don't really know what causes pre-ecampsia and I am at greater risk having had it the first time around.  If I can avoid it, my pregnancy and post delivery will be so much more enjoyable!  I am starting to get leg cramps though, which is something I never got with Hudson.  Overall, this pregnancy is so different.

Hudson update:  He ROCKED Halloween!  He was so excited for days to get to be "Catboy" one of his favorite cartoon characters. And he totally "got" Halloween this year.  They must have talked about it a lot at school, because Jason and I didn't explain it at all.  But he was pumped for the big day!  He was excited to wear his costume, and super excited to trick or treat.  He worked the system pretty quickly and grabbed multiple pieces of candy at each house.  I guess he was too cute to tell him to put it back.  We eventually caught on, but his little pumpkin was too heavy for him to hold by the end of the night!  Even the scary houses didn't phase him.  And we are SO lucky, because I'm SURE we wont get away with this next year... he forgot ALL about his candy by the next morning.  He doesn't eat candy yet, so it was pretty easy, but it could have been a new battle if he'd realized! Jason and I did our best to destroy the evidence as quick as possible.

School soccer lessons have ended. He loved playing and talks about soccer all the time so we just signed him up for a Winter league at a park nearby.  He will start soccer this Saturday until January.  It's perfect because its at a park we usually go to on the weekends to tire him out anyway and only a few minutes from the house.  Now we can do his lesson and then let him play at the park or the pool/ waterpark in the same complex.  I was thinking about it this morning and I am so grateful for where we've made our home.  I love where we live. I couldn't imagine a more perfect place to raise my children.  So much of our lives exist within a 15 minute radius. With both Jason and I working close to home, and Hudson's school being close by, and so much to do just a few minutes from the house.  Not to mention the cul de sac full of kids and parental support. It's pretty awesome.

20 Weeks- Half Way There!

20 Weeks Pregnant & Life with a 2 1/2 Year Old:

Baby 2- 20 weeks

20 Weeks Pregnant

Patiently waiting at the Doctor's Office to see Baby 2

First Starbucks... now he's addicted like Mommy. Oops!

It's getting out of control. This is what happens when two architects have a baby...

It feels like this pregnancy is going pretty fast!  I can't believe we're already half way there.  Now that I'm over morning sickness things have been pretty good.  I'm enjoying the "easy second trimester." Up until this week I really haven't even felt pregnant, other than the fact that this baby moves A LOT! I'm a little worried he's not going to sit still when he gets out.  My tummy is finally at a point where I can't really hide it anymore.  I started wearing "pregnant clothes" (or clothes that make me look pregnant) this week, so people at work have finally noticed.  Life is busy with a 2 1/2 year old, work, and all of our activities.

Hudson continues to soak up the world like a little sponge.  It's amazing how much he learns and changes each week.  He has an opinion for just about everything and I'm noticing his memory is getting much better! That's a new challenge sometimes :)

Hudson started soccer lessons at school on Tuesdays and he loves it!  He is such a natural little athlete.  He's still swimming too.  Mommy is still doing circus and Daddy plays hockey three times a week so we're all busy keeping busy!

On the weekends we enjoy getting together with Hudson's friends, going to the beach, or pool/ water park, or park.  We're still working on our "house projects."  Progress has slowed, but it will all get done eventually.  Life is busy and I can't quite picture all the ways its going to change when we add a baby into the mix!  I guess we'll figure it out!

Villoria...Party of 4...

Baby #2 is Due February 21st!

And.....

It's another BOY!

I found out at only 4 weeks this time, on the day before Father's Day.  It was perfect timing because I got to surprise Jason on Father's Day that he was about to become a father of two!  I couldn't have planned that if I tried.  This also means we've been keeping this secret for 10 weeks now!  We just found out we're having another boy yesterday.  I'm not going to lie, we were both hoping for a girl but I'm sure Hudson is going to love having a baby brother!
It's different the second time around!  I've been much sicker this time (why I thought it was a girl).  And having a two year old running around means I'm focusing much less on being pregnant and more on our crazy busy life.  My body feels different this time too.  It clearly remembers being pregnant and jumped right into pregnancy mode from day 1!  I slipped into maternity clothes MUCH sooner this time around.  I think that's maybe mostly because this time I just want to be comfortable.  I'm still doing my best to hide it, but my days are numbered.  I'm sure my coworkers are either speculating behind my back or concerned I've developed a cake addiction :) I do love cake though...

I am in full nesting mode!  Last time around I had to wait until about 20 weeks when we finally got a house.  This time, I'm diving right in!  We've started converting the upstairs loft into a 4th bedroom and added a storage closet under our stairs.  Both projects are underway and will be for a little while.  It takes a while to get things done on the weekends, especially when you have a two year old to entertain at the same time.  It's more of a tag team effort rather than a joint effort this time around.  I love all the change/ improvements though!

4th bedroom... coming soon!

Enough about us... HUDSON!  Over the years I've had a few people tell me two is the best age.  I didn't believe them though, because so far every age has been the best age. It is just so awesome to see them change and grow at every stage. But.... two really is the BEST age! I love having a two year old!  He has really started talking so much lately and it is so cute and fun to hear the things he has to say.  It's also incredible how much he seems to learn from week to week.  He is just so sweet. We are so so lucky!

Hudson is still doing swimming lessons and LOVES the pool!  He will spend ALL day in the pool at Grandma & Grandpa's house when we're there.  He's doing great at swim lessons, able to float on his back for 10 seconds by himself and learning to push off a wall and swim with his head down in the water unassisted.  He loves to jump of the diving board! Again, and again, and again...

He's definitely not spoiled when he goes to Grandma & Grandpas!  They just got him a few pool toys...

He also still loves to build!  Everyday he builds "houses" out of blocks or legos, or whatever else he can find. We have cut up 2x4s in the backyard he will sit and play with for hours sometimes.

He also LOVES to climb!  He loves the park, and has mastered climbing up everything there.  He loves to climb rocks or walls or furniture, or the outside of the stairs :-/  I pray daily that there are no hospital visits in our future!

We love every moment with this little boy! I can't even image what it will be like adding another one to the mix.  I'm sure it'll be hard, and exhausting, and amazing and wonderful and a whole lot more in between! I'll keep you posted!

2 Years Old!

At 24 Months:

34.5 inches tall

24 pounds

Loves playing riding his scooter, driving his car or ATV, running around outside, coloring, swimming & climbing everything!

Now has a mouth full of teeth (finally)!

Stringing words together and using small sentences (and big ones we just can't understand yet)

Favorite Shows: Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins, Curious George

Well, its official... we have a 2 year old!  Its been a busy year so far, so I missed our last blog post.  Boy has a lot changed in 4 months.  Two really is different!  A lot has changed.  At two, he moved up into the 2-3 yr old classroom at school.  That alone has been a big change.  Since he is in a Montessori School they focus a lot on motor skill and daily "life" skills.  They pour their own water, serve their food themselves, help prepare snacks, etc.  At home Hudson feeds the dog every morning and helps with cleaning up and small tasks.  It is so neat to see his excitement in helping out and mastering tasks.

He's moved on from Mommy and me swim classes and is now doing private lessons.  He is doing so great and still loves to swim.  Plus, I don't have to get in the water anymore which felt like a small victory for me too :)

But in general he is just less like a baby and more like a toddler now.  Eager to do as much as he can on his own and make his own decisions.  He likes to argue with us already.  There's already a good amount of negotiating going on in our household!  Sometimes its tough. And sometimes its tough to not just give in because he's so darn cute!  He sure is a lot of fun though!

We went to Disneyland for his second birthday.  We went with a big group of our neighbors, 4 two year olds, a 5 year old, and 8 adults!  It was a lot of fun.  It was so great watching him take everything in.  He had a blast.
He loves beach trips with his friends, playing at the park, running around in the neighborhood and building villages with his blocks (go figure!) He is endless energy and he wears me out watching him!

 2 is fun!

Cousin Time!

It's been a busy past few months with the holidays. We had a wonderful, action packed Thanksgiving, a crazy all out Christmas and a short and sweet New Years!  It was nice getting to see so many family and friends the past few months and it's hard to believe the New Year is already here and in full swing.  In just a few months we'll have a 2 year old on our hands!  I know I say it every post, but I just don't know where the time is going!  It seems like just yesterday I was waiting (impatiently) for this little boy to arrive.  Hudson has been gaining his independence lately.  He's trying to talk so much we finally gave up on keeping track of all the words he knows.  He'll say small sentences sometimes that we can understand, and he's constantly telling us all kinds of stuff that we can't even begin to decipher.  But it's exciting watching him become so enthusiastic about communicating. He also knows what he wants, and wants what he wants, and has no trouble telling us what he doesn't want!  "No" is still his favorite response.  We can also reason with him on simple things now.... "do you want to go outside?" "Yes? Then you have to put your shoes on."  It's pretty neat to watch him work through these things and make his own decisions.
He's doing so great at his swim lessons.  The new level has been a really fun change.  He just loves to swim and gets so much better each week.  He can swim underwater for 7 seconds on his own now.  Each week he goes a little longer.
We're excited for this new year and what it will bring!  XOXO
